Family Friendly Yoga Teacher Training

Dates Available:

TBD

Trainer: Mandy Lawson E-RYT 500, RCYT, YACEP

Costa Rica is a rich paradise where you can experience nature at its finest. On the property it’s common to see both howler and white faced monkeys, iguanas, many species of birds and so much more. Even from the Yoga deck we see guatusas, red squirrels, blue morpho butterflies and pizotes!

For Certification students, this training will fulfill the requirements of the Yoga Alliance (YA) for a 200 hour training. Costa Yoga is a Registered Yoga School with the Yoga Alliance. With this certification you will be able to register as a RYT-200 with the YA, and teach anywhere in the world!

In this training we will focus on both gentle Vinyasa Flow and Restorative Yoga styles. As a Certification student, you will learn to teach effectively in both of these styles and will be able to use your new skills to put together other types of classes as well. You will be provided with outlines for both of these types of classes and will practice teaching each during the training. Yoga Intensive students will delve deeply into both of these styles, but will not participate in the practicum portion of the training.

This isn't an acrobatic Yoga training. We will not study how to do headstands or handstands, or other physically "complicated' postures. We WILL focus on around 50 postures (asanas) that can be offered in yoga classes of any level. Using breath, internal focus, increased body awareness and mindfulness to increase the level of difficulty when desired.

Our philosophy is that Yoga is an individual practice, and that we must meet each student (and ourselves) where they/we are. We will study and learn a complete Yoga practice including all of the 8 limbs. This includes, but is not limited to; meditation, pranayama (breathing practice), Yoga philosophy, lifestyle, anatomy and more.

Who is this training for?:

Anyone who is interested in learning more about the art and science of Yoga in a well rounded way. In addition to the study of the physical postures of Yoga, we will spend time talking about philosophy, pushing our personal boundaries when it comes to our beliefs about ourselves and the world around us, exploring our minds and any patterns that are impeding our progress towards our goals and forming a connection with one another. If you're looking for connection, inspiration, and a deepening of understanding of your own spirituality, mind and body, this is the training for you. We will also gain an understanding of what is happening below the skin in a Yoga (asana) practice. Mandy is passionate about studying anatomy and loves to share this with her students.

We do not have a minimum requirement in terms of length of time or level of practice. For those coming with less experience and looking for certification, we will work together to determine if you're ready to teach upon leaving the training. For those not wishing to teach after the program, you will follow the Yoga Intensive track.

Each person is different and comes with different experiences, qualifications, motivations and goals. If you're unsure about your readiness to attend this training, please feel free to email us at info@cabuyalodge.com to speak with Mandy.
